A Day Of Fasting & Prayer

by Kelly Crawford

When we got a notice from our church about a voluntary day of fasting and prayer, I had just finished reading Nehemiah where the first thing he did, upon hearing the calamity of his people, fell down and wept, and fasted and prayed.

The fast our church announced is Wednesday, specifically to pray for our country. I think it would be incredible if there were a mass fasting and prayer among the blog community.

If you want to participate, I’m inviting you. Any day, of course, is a great day to determinedly cry out to the Lord on our nation’s behalf.

I would like to join you in fasting and prayer Wednesday.

What an awesome, spiritual church you belong to.

The big item at our church right now, is planning a Halloween Fesitval.

Kelly,
I thought you might be interested in this blog post http://www.free4him.org/dougblog/?p=292 It’s about the collective prayer effort that Churchill organized, and trying to get a similar thing going now for the U.S. One minute a day, at the same time.

This is a fabulous idea…

Remember, Jesus said that sometimes prayer & fasting was the "only" way to get rid of some demons!

I’ll also be joining in the Wednesday fast and prayer…

The verse that I keep hearing in my spirit is,

“2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

IF ONLY!! If only ALL the christians in the US could do this! Can you imagine the results?

It seems like some christians don’t realize the situation we’re in (like the frog in the stew pot) and others think that God can’t or won’t do anything about it.

I hope you get this as I am a couple of days behind. Have you checked out Thecall.com? We had one here in Vegas and it was amazing what the Lord did. We even feel led to go to the one in San Diego on the 1st of Novemeber. Some in our church (as have numerous churches in California) have been on a forty day fast for our nation–ending it after the call and right before the election. I am in a 21 day fast for the same—For God to be glorified in our nation anyway He sees fit!
