5 Easy Ways to Improve Your Health-Day 2

by Kelly Crawford

Take a daily supplement.

I know that seems obvious, but sometimes we forget the simplest of things!

With our diets and our food being so depleted of necessary vitamins and minerals, I think it’s really important that we and our families take a nutritional supplement. But not all supplements are the same.

Do some research, ask around, and make sure you are taking a “whole foods” supplement, so your body can naturally ingest the nutrients. Otherwise, you may be flushing a lot of your money.

Some can be pricey, but then again, what’s a little prevention worth?

Right now, my go-to supplement is turmeric. Research has shown SUCH amazing overall health benefits in this one, natural supplement, that it’s a no-brainer. Brain health, heart health, anti-inflammatory (join support), fights depression, helps prevent some cancers…the list keeps going. I launched my own brand this year (you can get it HERE) and I’ve heard amazing results from customers too. You should try it–its $3 off right now!

I would love to hear your recommendations for nutritional supplements!

I need to look more into this…….currently I take my vitamins ‘separately’, and every other day, to save money. I take calcium/magnesium/zinc, vitamins B,C and E, and then fish oil. Its probably smarter to take a multivitamin. I get the generic brand at the health food store. I am not sure of its exact absorption percentage; I need to ask next time I stroll in there. I know medalucea and shaklee’s both have good absorption rates, but I think when I looked into it, they were too pricey for me.

I just love these posts! I liked how you mentioned our food is depleted of nutrition. Most people don’t realize this – that even the fruits and vegetables they eat may be toxic because of how food is grown nowadays. Good nutrition has completely changed our lives and there are so many lies in our culture that tout good health but really contribute to our decline. Our family takes Body Balance. According to the Physicians Desk Reference only 10 – 20% of nutrients in pill form are absorbed (vs. liquid forms 90%plus) *Body Balance* is 98% absorbed (because it is a raw, liquid whole food) and contains more than 120 known nutrients. I used to take Supermom – I enjoyed it and love the company Beeyoutiful You – but I didn’t like that my children couldn’t take it – plus it is one megabig pill to swallow 🙂 Body Balance is a raw whole food – so anyone can take it. It costs our family about $1.20 per person per day – but my family doesn’t get guaranteed nutrition any other way so it is worth it. (smiles)

Shamless plug for Mrs. Santos…(am I right about this Mrs. S.?) but I think she sells Body Balance if you’re looking for a source. Body Balance is a wonderful whole food supplement that I would recommend.

I didn’t think she would plug herself, so I took the liberty 😉

Sounds delicious!

Fruit is expensive, but most of us, by cutting out the junk food and snacks, should have extra $ for those great nutrients!

One thing you might want to consider (esp. since you are pregnant) is the presence of cyanide in dangerous amounts in apricot pits and in more negligible amounts in apple seeds. See snopes:

Annette (I think you may have meant this comment for the other post)…Yes, I’m sure there is a danger there. I’m not eating any of those seeds right now…just passing along the info. I will check into that article though!

Just a last minute endorsement of your JuicePlus. . . if you have seen the retrospective pregnancy study you will agree that it is preciously valuable for both you and your children. I love that my whole family eats it and the research on it is gold-standard.
