My favorite part of motherhood…
~The two lines on the pregnancy test that make my heart beat fast.
~Children saying “l” words when they pronounce it like a “w”.
~A completely new person made of my husband and me.
~Labor pains…just the first ones 😉
~Legos
~A house full of my best little friends.
~Beautiful, sleeping babies.
~Wet, naked bottoms fresh out of the bathtub.
~The unbelievable sound of my oldest daughter saying she wants to be just like me.
~Dreaming of our family when everyone is grown up and gathered for Christmas.
~When Avi says, “Mom, have you seen my “patch baby” (cabbage patch with yarn hair)…I need it to suck my thumb.”
~Baby dolls and tractors stewn about the house…yes, if I allow myself, I find tremendous joy in seeing these tangible “symbols” of my children.
~Watching my 4-year old chew up plantain (that weed that grows in everyone’s yard) and spit it out on her baby sister’s ant bite (it really works!)
~Big, smacky kisses from a child just learning how fun it is.

I am encouraged by this post : )
It is very easy to come across information that can easily turn an inexperienced person off to the idea of kids. I just read a little blurb (on a finance blog of all places) about how awful and annoying it is for the author and his wife to have to go to a public places with there (one) child.
Then I read a news piece written by a mom (2 kids) who encourages women to stop lying and admit how boring their children and being a mom really are.
I really am encouraged when I see that people who sincerly enjoy their kids really do exist. Our culture is just so full of messages that children do nothing but cramp your style.
What a beautiful list!
What a beautiful tribute to motherhood! 🙂 I love posts like this.
Wow, you looked amazing in that pic right after giving birth! 🙂
I would have to change a few of your things. I am a mother of one. I hate those pregnancy tests. They have never been favorable to me. Then I would add, that phone call that says… “He’s Yours!!!”
Me too!
I intensely second your list!
