I’ll be trying to scatter some money saving tips throughout the next few weeks, particularly to help with Christmas shopping this year.
Here’s a quick little “shopping secret” most of you probably know, but it doesn’t hurt to remind you.
I have found many of my daughter’s “wish-list” books, and some specific toys through Amazon…they have new, like new, and used products at a fraction of the retail cost. If you apply for an amazon card, you get $30 credit!
Anytime I’m looking for a particular item, I check Amazon first! (Found a bugle for my son–most were retailing for over $25, the one I found was $16.)
AND…Amazon is offering FREE Super Saver shipping on orders over $25 now through December 17th!

Amazon is a great place to check for household staples, too! You often have to buy in bulk packages of 3 or more of the same item, but sometimes (NOT always) I find their prices to be better than driving 40+ miles to try to find a bargain. Even with the shipping, which is frequently waived on certain products.
Oh, and don’t forget EBAY!
Usually I think of Amazon first and Hubby thinks of EBAY. There are a lot of stores that sell through that site and you can pick up brand new stuff at a great discount.
Thanks, Kelly!
Amazon always seems to be running the Super Saver shipping offer, which is one of the main reasons I love shopping through them, whether it’s for Christmas or birthdays or anytime.
The other reason I adore Amazon is that if you’re ordering a product directly through Amazon, and not from one of the national stores selling through Amazon, you mostly don’t have to pay sales tax — which is especially good those of us who live in states with high sales tax! (Like Texas, hehe.)
Not to mention the savings of time and gas (even though gas is cheap again!) since you’re spared having to get in the car, crank up the heater, search for a parking space, stand in lines at the cash register…Shopping Amazon is eco-friendly! 😉
Great perks! I am all for not having to leave the house and having my items shipped here, especially if I got a great deal.
Half.com usually has books cheaper than Amazon does, you might want to check it out. I also buy as many books as I can from the 25 cents section on sale at the library, you don’t get new releases, but you can still find some quality books.
