Let Her Go-A Wedding Song From Parents

by Kelly Crawford

I meant to include this on my post about our daughter’s marriage and forgot. I wrote a song for her, played during the entrance of parents and grandparents. If you know any publishers who would like to buy my song and make it fabulous, send them my way. 😀

Many thanks to Iachod Media for recording, adding beautiful instruments and editing!

Dear Kelly, So beautiful & touching. You made me cry! I hope someone picks this up & runs with it.We Mothers are here to give them nurture, but we have to let them go, little by little, every day of their lives, hoping we have given them strong wings for them to fly away from our nest. You will miss her for the rest of your life! Hold on to your wonderful memories!

Maybe it’s because I have my own little blue-eyed blonde girl who’s just one and a half years old, and I have pregnancy hormones raging with another one on the way, but I was bawling throughout this whole song! So beautiful and your voice is just perfect for the emotional melody 🙂

Oh, Sabrina, I’m sorry! I had to listen to it through tears over and over so I wouldn’t be lost it at her wedding.

Love it! Another song that reminds me how quickly the time with little ones will fly by. Our newest baby was born w/i a month of my oldest son’s 18th birthday. He moved out a couple months ago. It goes by too quickly. I love to be reminded to treasure these years, one day I will look back on this time and miss it.

Kelly,

Is that you singing? Did you sing it live @ the wedding?

You’ve got a lovely voice. Good job…nice nuanced title. 😉

BTW, Bria’s dress is absolutely stunning.

Cathy, yes it is, though my dream is that a real singer and a fabulous musician would make it awesome. No, I did not sing it live (are you kidding me?) I played this very recording. (The nuance…ha, you saw what I did there?)

Yes, Cathy, in my head. Not technically on paper 😉

You’re kind, Charlotte, but I definitely think another singer too. I’d just love to get to paid for doing something I love–the writing.

Wow, that’s pretty much the worst song ever written and/or performed. I would bury that one DEEP in the vault, lady.

Blech. **Ear cleaning**

This song has been running through my head a lot lately, and that’s okay. 🙂 I always love a song with a good melody, and yours has a memorable and quite lovely melodic contour. Very pretty.
