Let Her Go-A Wedding Song From Parents

by Kelly Crawford

I meant to include this on my post about our daughter’s marriage and forgot. I wrote a song for her, played during the entrance of parents and grandparents. If you know any publishers who would like to buy my song and make it fabulous, send them my way. 😀

Many thanks to Iachod Media for recording, adding beautiful instruments and editing!

Dear Kelly, So beautiful & touching. You made me cry! I hope someone picks this up & runs with it.We Mothers are here to give them nurture, but we have to let them go, little by little, every day of their lives, hoping we have given them strong wings for them to fly away from our nest. You will miss her for the rest of your life! Hold on to your wonderful memories!

I listened, and I loved it! Cannot wait for the big day. Love you! We will cry together through the next few years. My baby is 21 today!

Charlotte Moore December 22, 2014 - 11:50 am

Oh my, I sit here crying from these beautiful words. So touching and true. I sure hope someone contacts you to produce this song.

Very lovely song Kelly. Please let us know when we can get a copy.

Kelly Crawford December 22, 2014 - 9:50 pm

You can get a copy. Do you want a copy? I could stick up a buy button if you’d like! Would you prefer a physical copy or a download?

Sabrina December 23, 2014 - 1:20 pm

Maybe it’s because I have my own little blue-eyed blonde girl who’s just one and a half years old, and I have pregnancy hormones raging with another one on the way, but I was bawling throughout this whole song! So beautiful and your voice is just perfect for the emotional melody 🙂

Kelly Crawford December 23, 2014 - 4:03 pm

Oh, Sabrina, I’m sorry! I had to listen to it through tears over and over so I wouldn’t be lost it at her wedding.

Love it! Another song that reminds me how quickly the time with little ones will fly by. Our newest baby was born w/i a month of my oldest son’s 18th birthday. He moved out a couple months ago. It goes by too quickly. I love to be reminded to treasure these years, one day I will look back on this time and miss it.

Is that you singing? Did you sing it live @ the wedding?

You’ve got a lovely voice. Good job…nice nuanced title. 😉

BTW, Bria’s dress is absolutely stunning.

Kelly Crawford December 24, 2014 - 5:50 pm

Cathy, yes it is, though my dream is that a real singer and a fabulous musician would make it awesome. No, I did not sing it live (are you kidding me?) I played this very recording. (The nuance…ha, you saw what I did there?)

Annie D December 24, 2014 - 3:34 pm

I wish I were a producer so I can make my millions off your talent. Fabulous.

Kelly Crawford December 24, 2014 - 5:49 pm

Aw, Annie, I wish you were too 😉 Thank you.

Cathy December 24, 2014 - 10:57 pm

Did you also write the score?

Kelly Crawford December 27, 2014 - 1:56 pm

Yes, Cathy, in my head. Not technically on paper 😉

Charlotte Moore December 26, 2014 - 8:32 pm

I just played tis so my husband could hear it. I was reading some of the other comments. I had no idea that was you singing. WOW!! Your voice is beautiful. You just need a producer nit another singer. We love the song.

Kelly Crawford December 27, 2014 - 10:56 pm

You’re kind, Charlotte, but I definitely think another singer too. I’d just love to get to paid for doing something I love–the writing.

Claudia December 29, 2014 - 5:19 pm

Thank you for sharing this beautiful song, Kelly! Had Bria heard it before her wedding day?

Kelly Crawford December 29, 2014 - 7:38 pm

Yes, Claudia, I did play if for her. She cried each time.

Thelma January 1, 2015 - 5:12 pm

Wow, that’s pretty much the worst song ever written and/or performed. I would bury that one DEEP in the vault, lady.

Blech. **Ear cleaning**

This song has been running through my head a lot lately, and that’s okay. 🙂 I always love a song with a good melody, and yours has a memorable and quite lovely melodic contour. Very pretty.

I’ll put up a buy button. They are already ready to purchase, I just haven’t made them available because I didn’t know anyone would be interested.
