Since my daughter married over two years ago, they have suffered a miscarriage (possibly two) and have prayed fervently for a baby. Watching my daughter grieve and silently worry whether she will even be able to carry a pregnancy has been a really difficult thing. I have had to lean on the sovereignty of the Lord and try to help her do the same. Last week, completely unexpected, at her birthday party where she was supposed to be opening a “big gift” from her husband, they surprised us with exciting news with both our families (and my parents) present. The video speaks for itself. We are completely over the moon even though admittedly, it’s hard to get used to calling myself a grandmother! For now, I plan to be called, “Lovey.”

I have been following your blog for awhile and am so blessed by it. I have a very similar family as yours 13 children the youngest is 18 months. 🙂 When I read your post I just wanted to say Congratulations. I know the excitement. Our son and his wife have been praying for a baby for three years and they just told us they were expecting! Enjoy this new exciting stage in your life! God is so good!
So happy for all of you, Kelly! I’m still several years away from seeing grandkids (my oldest is 17yo), but I can feel the excitement from the video and look forward to it! Many, Many happy days ahead!
Fun way to announce. 🙂 Congrats all around!
Congratulations!
I also had a hard time with being called grandma at 44. We just had our 8th baby a month after I turned 44. Then two months later had our first grandson, from our second oldest daughter and then had our second grandson was born just last January to our oldest daughter. So, we have an 8 month old daughter, a 6 month old grandson, and a one month old grandson. Still wrapping our minds around it all but having all three babies playing is very sweet. Even though I rarely get to hold the grandbabies as I am usually nursing my own baby or holding our 3 and 4 year olds. 🙂
Many many happy congratulations to you all!!!! Wonderful good!! Praise God!!
Prayers for everything to go wonderfully!! Congratulations to you and yours!!
I was 46 when I became a Grandma. Loved it and have no problem being called Grandma. Music to my ears. Very exciting time.
God bless,
d
I’ve been following your blog since the time of your tornado damage but haven’t ever commented. Once youe daughter got married I figured this announcement wouldn’t be too far behind so I’ve literally checked in every week to see of this news was here! Congratulations. We too have a large family with two married and one more this summer. Our oldest found out a few months ago that medically speaking they are not able to have children. I continue to pray that God would be pleased to be the Great Physician that He is and bless them with children in spite of what they have been told. I’ve even asked Him to bless them with twins. So very glad for your great news.
Oh, Carrie, thank you! I’m so sorry for the news you all have received. But I have seen, personally, how the God we serve is the One with whom nothing is impossible. I will join you praying that He heals and surprises and does exceedingly more than you can ask or think.
Hello dear Kelly, I am just thrilled for your daughter, you, and your whole family! What a blessing, what a gift!
Congratulations Kelly soooo super excited for you beautiful lady xx
Thank you, Hayley!!!
