WOW…wow, wow. That’s how this article leaves me. It was so deep and rich, I had to soak it in, little by little. Ann Voskamp is a word magician…bringing to life the heart and essence of living with children. Every parent needs to take her insight to heart…the following description is what children in our culture, perhaps even in our own families, are missing.
Connecting
Ann Voskamp, August 2007
…..“What words today, dear?” she’d ask.
I would spill. Of characters and ideas, stories and places that had washed me far out across the pond to new lands. Grandma, the soft jangling wrinkles of her upper arm brushing against my youth, would walk in and out of shadows, listening…then string out her life stories to me adrift in the pages and books that summertime had given. I was a person out in the waters of it all, connecting to a person, connecting to the world. The fading mirage of those in-between-days now reorients me, as a mother and educator, towards what a real education is.

WW, here’s a birth control article that will make your blood boil!

Wow…it’s so easy to see how the commercialization of killing babies works. We truly can witness that “the love of money is the root of all evil”.
And I’ve said it all along, Planned Parenthood’s two major promotions are contraception and abortion. Isn’t it clear they go hand in hand?
Interestingly enough, a situation that I was just made aware of has had my mind reeling about the “good will” things people (Christians) often say without thinking.
“Having sex outside of marriage is wrong, but if you’re going to do it, at least use birth control so the situation doesn’t get worse.”
Sounds logical. BUT, would we look at someone who was in the habit of robbing banks and killing the teller and say, “Well, I don’t agree with what you’re doing. But if you insist on killing people, at least wear gloves so your fingerprints can’t be traced.” Saying that would make one an accomplice.
Isn’t it the same thing? And what are we telling our children when we allow them to be taught sex education? “Fornication is wrong, but I will be your accomplice if you are set on it”.
I know I’m rambling…lots of thoughts are colliding around in my brain (a very common occurence!) I’ll stop gabbing for now…thanks, Daja, for the article.
Wow, I love Ann’s article and it is certainly something I need to hear. Having never seen this type of relationship in action, it’s something I need some clear, step-by-step instruction to do. She provided that and the inspiration. I’ll keep trying. 🙂
What a beautiful, touching article! Thanks for posting the link!
How on earth does being married reduce the chance of pregnancy? If my husband and I get a divorce but still live together, do you suppose it will help me get pregnant?
