Home Christmas Behind the Scenes

Behind the Scenes

by adminnv

It’s time for you to meet the lady that makes it all happen!

Dana and I at our booth at the “Christmas Shop” we recently hosted here at our home. It was so much fun!

It was about 5 years ago (I really can’t remember!), one Christmas as we struggled dreadfully with our finances after my husband’s business collapsed, that I decided to make homemade skin products to save money on Christmas presents.  I really can’t help it, but everything I make I immediately think of selling.  (That bothers some people, I suppose, but ’tis my bent.)  Especially since we needed extra money that Christmas, I launched “Nurtured by Nature”.

Several years ago with several more little ones underfoot, we were drowning in brown sugar scrub and shea butter.  Making the products was fun but very challenging with my increasingly busy life.

Enter my friend, Dana and her 3 sweet girls!  We spent a few days together helping them learn “the secrets” of the process, and they have been making my products ever since.  Not only that, but she does everything except the marketing.  She orders, makes the products and ships them out to you–bless her sweet heart!

She is the only reason Nurtured by Nature still exists and I thought you should “meet” her 😉

And now we introduce our

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL

for this year:

Dana and her girls are busily filling these beautiful baskets full of our (limited-time-only) Peppermint Body Parfait (made with Aloe Vera), Peppermint Soap (this is scrumptious!) and our improved, Peppermint Lip Balm made with bees wax!

All for only $10!

I wanted to see your baby products before I placed my order, but the link took me to a previous post (which I loved :)) instead of to the products.

Which link did you click and where did it go? I actually have taken down the baby page for now. We weren’t selling as much of that.

On the bottom of your products page “Click HERE to see baby products” It took me to a post titled “Home” and was an excerpt from “The Family” by J.R. Miller. I think I needed to read that more than I need baby lotion! I’m excited to try your moisturizer…Minnesota winters can be harsh on one’s skin.

Oops! I didn’t know that was still there–I removed it, thanks!

Our moisturizer is really good. One of my friends, who used to use really expensive brands switched to ours and she routinely tells me she “almost panicked” when she thought she was running out 😉

I will be ordering quite a few of your lib balm in the next few days! I can’t imagine it being “improved” any…it was TERRIFIC as it was! So excited to smear that stuff on my smoochers 😉 (How’s that for a sells pitch?) 🙂

What a great idea–I love leaving gifts for our post lady too. Last year she gave us one! Your order is already being processed (i.e. sent to Dana ;-))

I received my order a few days ago, the lotion smells delicious and I can’t wait to try the sugar scrub! I have a dry skin disease that is really annoying and the “only treatment” is exfoliation and a steroidal lotion (which I am opposed to using) so I am always looking for a more natural treatment. I’ll let you know how it goes!

We have been tossing around ideas for our family to have a small business once we transfer and are stationed somewhere a little more permanent. Do you have any tips (I just signed up for your little course)?

Thanks for sharing your story. I too am a creative individual and everything I make I think about selling and some items I have sold successfully. Its good to know that I am not the only one who thinks like this!

Could you tell us more about the “Christmas shop” you had at your house?
