An All-in-One Homeschooling Language and Writing Curriculum? Yes Please! (Modeling the Classics)

by Kelly Crawford

I’m giddy like a little girl who just discovered cotton candy. I’ve discovered “Modeling the Classics.” And what about that makes me giddy? If there is a fan of simplifying and being practical about homeschooling, I’m your girl.

We already love copy work because it’s the simple concept of becoming good at writing by copying good writing.

But modeling the classics adds to that: it is a complete language curriculum all in one, simple to use, promotes thinking skills, examines excellent writing techniques, then helps your child develop his writing around those.

All of that plus printable copywork sheets with print and cursive practice!

I had never seen Modeling the Classics until I became part of this week’s fantastic Homeschool Bundle Sale with 91 ebooks for $25 (that’s only 28 cents each!) . The Town Mouse Package (from Aesop’s Fables) is included in it!

Look at all the incredible books HERE and get this bundle before it ends (tonight at midnight) sale is over.

“Modeling the Classics aims to encourage children to model their own writing, on styles of authors which they already love. Before any writing begins, the whole book should be read aloud to the children. All of these books are loved by children because of their characters, warmth, descriptions, creative plots and the beauty of the literary style. Through each lesson, the children are to be keen observers of the classic author, explore the techniques which the author uses and then use the passage as a model for their own writing.”

Here are just a few more great titles in the bundle:

I like the looks of this, but am curious if it comes in a hard copy. The article shows a hard copy and says it is a complete language arts course, but when you purchase the ebook, it seems as if you only receive the lessons from The Hobbit and not the other books they have listed there. ??

Jean,

I’m sorry, but as it’s noted in the post, this sale is over. It ended in 2013.
