“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.” Hosea 4:6
Good news…the contrast to this verse would be:
“My people are restored for a wealth of knowledge. Because you have accepted knowledge, I also will accept you as My priest. Since you have remembered the law of your God, I also will remember your children.”
I don’t believe in a defeat mentality for Christians. Our God is sovereign.
God DELIGHTS in restoring what the locusts have eaten, doesn’t He? He DELIGHTS in a people who humble themselves and turn back to Him. He DELIGHTS in showing mercy and long-suffering.
We can claim the same promises He gave the children of Israel (if you are a Christian, you are still His chosen). “Return to me, and I will restore…repent and I will bless the nation.”
And Scripture says the Lord searches all over the earth for hearts that seek Him.
This is our time; we were born for “such a time as this”. A time to put on the full armour of God, and dress our children in it too.
Time to know what is happening, and be girded with power, not fear; time to understand God’s sovereignty, but NOT use it as an excuse for apathy.
Time to speak truth in love; time to be unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ; time to fear God more than man.
I am very hopeful, because of the remnant of believers who are willing to stand against wickedness and fight for their children. And are willing to receive the children God gives them to “silence the enemies”. They will be a city on a hill whose light cannot be hidden.
“Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world!”
