Why You Should Be Excited if Your Child Has ADD

by Kelly Crawford

Is your child bent toward being an entrepreneur?  If so, encourage it! We were so inspired by this video–you’re going to love it!  Hat tip to Kathy for finding it.  (Please note that it has some mild slang language–use discretion with children.)

“I think we have an obligation as parents to start teaching our kids to fish instead of giving them a fish.”

Ah! Thank you! It’s about time somebody just says that out loud.

Very inspiring video, especially if you have boys that seem to struggle with school.

Such a neat video. Thank you for sharing. My husband and I are planning some endeavors for our children. I found this online and thought it would encourage….

“Einstein, Newton, Edison, Beethoven, Caruso, and Churchill were all ADHD candidates. What would the world be like without them? Albert Einstein did not speak until he was four years old and he didn’t read until he was seven. The instructors described him as mentally slow, unsociable and a dreamer. He was later expelled from school.

Thomas Edison’s teachers said he was too stupid to learn anything. Isaac Newton did very poorly in grade school while singer Enrico Caruso’s was informed he had no voice and couldn’t sing. Winston Churchill failed sixth grade, and Beethoven was awkward with the violin and preferred to compose instead of play. His instructor called him hopeless as a composer…”

Thank you for this! How encouraging for this mom of a newly diagnosed ADHD boy. Now I understand why at 4 he sold interesting rocks he found around our place to anyone he met in order to purchase the water gun he wanted in June (a month before his birthday). I shouldn’t scold his impatience, but applaud his tenacity!
