She needs to be reminded, to have her vision renewed, to remember what it is she really does all day, every day. She needs to know what to do when motherhood feels too hard because every mother who knows the weight of her work faces those days.

I was so blessed by your prayer at the end of your talk, especially this part: “Give us the stamina we need to do the hard things each day.” Amen.
It’s so easy (for me, anyway) to think in terms of my own experience, having stamina some days, with seemingly very little a lot of other times. But that part of your prayer, especially the each day part, reminds me of Lamentations 3:23 — “[His compassions] are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” The Lord, in His great love and compassion for us, gives us a fresh supply of everything we need, each and every day! What a wonderful thought to meditate on, and a perfect opportunity to take my attention off myself and my perceived weaknesses, and to focus on Him, His strength, and His promises.
This was a real blessing to me. Have a beautiful Mother’s Day!
Amen, 6 arrows. That His mercies are new every morning, should get us through the hardest of days! Praise Him for that truth.

Thank you Kelly, I enjoyed listening and taking notes so much, I grabbed my notebook before I even started playing, but was amazed to hear your testimony at the beginning of the F5 you went through in your hometown, and the challenges you had to overcome, I to went through the F5 in Moore, Oklahoma last May 20th, and even though we are blessed beyond measure during, after and even today, its been a difficult task to get on track with being mom(homeschooling)and wife, to get a focus on my calling:) This is just what I needed and look forward to reading and listening to other things you are sharing with us…this is just what I needed:) God Bless, Mary!

Thank you Kelly! That message was an encouragement to me and brought tears to my eyes. It is sometimes hard to believe that the “little things” matter to the Lord, though I know it is true. I have found a refuge from the lies of the world in your blog and in the community here. I praise God for you, you are someone I consider a mentor and an eternal friend :).
I must shake my head, because I think you hit something right on the head. I often (with my piddly family of only 5 children) get the questions of “how do you do it?” or “how do you manage them all?” from people quite a lot. But I really think the real question they have is more like, “WHY do you BOTHER doing it? Especially if you don’t HAVE to?” (ie you COULD take a drug or have surgery). And when you take it even further by doing strange things like having no cable tv, homeschooling, and live on one income and have only one car, people look at you like you have two heads… or are from another planet, OR they put you this lonely pedestal and assume you must be wonder woman (SNORT!) with patience and virture that is unparalleled. But they WHY? question is so much harder and more time consuming to answer, and most people don’t seem to want to hear the why answer anyway… It seems because they don’t want to face the question for themselves or their own answer…Leila Lawler has a great post on this a few days ago on http://www.likemotherlikedaughter.org . I just now got a chance to listen to all of this. I’m so thankful I did. It was such an encouragement as I’m 38 weeks pregnant with my ninth child. Thank you for being so open and for turning us to the Word of God. I really need to focus on that right now. Blessings on you and your family.
