Though He Slay Me…Mourning Turned to Dancing!

ADDITION: Video below! Thank you Kathy!

Robin and Scott have taught me a lot about faith.  Not “faith” in the blase way we use it to describe a belief system, but “faith” in the way someone is able to hold on to God when all of hell rages against that belief system.

I watched Robin curl up in a ball when she lost her son just weeks before his due date, and not shake her fist at God–though her body may have wanted to–because he was the fourth child in a row she lost.  I stood by, unable to do a thing for her, as her shattered heart seemed to be irreparable.

She cried…and through her tears she said “God is faithful…though He slay me, yet will I trust Him“.  She walked the road she had to walk–sometimes she crawled, but she held on to a love for her Savior when she didn’t have to.  And that made all the difference in her road.

“You have changed my sobbing into dancing. You have removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy…” Psalm 30:11twins-3

Jo-Jo must be glad to see another family member who looks like him 😉

So today, we rejoice with unordinary joy at the miraculous display of God’s power in their lives at which we can only marvel.  The very day before Robin and Scott were to sign and begin, again, the long, tedious process of adoption (they particularly hoped for 2 girls from Africa and were open to special needs), they got a call (on a Sunday to accentuate the miracle) about twin girls about to be released from NICU, within the state.  Agreeing to have their profile shown to the birth mother, she chose them, and just 9 days after the first word of these babies, Robin held them in her arms!

The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.”  Psalm 16:6

Congratulations, Robin, Scott and the whole clan!!!

May The Lord bless you and keep you.

May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you.

May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

Those are beyond cute kids – one of those “I scarce can take it in” moments. Congratulations sweet family!

Thanks Kelly – we had an off day today, and needed the reminder that miracles abound.

Wow! God is so good! God is so awesome!
Reading your description of Robin’s previous experience-it’s hard to even type without tears. Praise God, He’s even with us in our deepest valleys, isn’t He?
There are so many wonderful things about this, all I can say is Praise God!

That’s so AWESOME!!!! The inspector for our new house and his wife experienced 12 miscarriages and 2 ectopic pregnancies between their oldest child (12) and their two youngest (5 & 6)! He was one of the most grateful, joyful people I’ve met. God gives grace to endure our struggles and He does indeed, turn our deepest sorrows into profound joy! Praise God! Thanks so much for sharing this!
