I did play this joke on my church family, but I couldn’t bring myself to really try to pull it off as real for you guys 😉 But to keep from crying, well it didn’t really work, but to have some fun, this is what I sent:
After a loooooong awaited labor…
16 lbs. 8 oz.
April Fools.
If we don’t laugh, we’ll cry.
Is there a prize for the world’s record for longest pregnancy?
Pray, my warrior family, pray!

Here’s hoping that birth wasn’t “natural”. LOL!!
I have great news for you — any birth will be a breeze compared to birthing that Sumo wrestler!
Would you have to nurse every half hour to maintain his weight? Is it just water weight?
On a serious note, you look fantastic, and I mean really fantastic, for carrying around such a whale of a child.
Congrats.
Praying Praying hard!!!!
God, I pray for the perfect timing of this little one. Bless Kelly with patience, peace, love and joy during this trying time. We pray for a nice, quick labor after all this waiting around. Complete the new life within her and bring him/her out safely with no complications. In Jesus’ name!
giggle. That would have been great. 😀
Oh my goodness…I normally love chubby cheecked babies, but…wow. That baby has some SERIOUSLY chubby cheeks!
Stay patient, perhaps God has a really good reason for keeping him in there for the moment…hang on! 🙂
Your baby will be born in April! That narrows it down quite a bit now that we know the month. Praying! 🙂
Wow, I’m really impressed that you had the guts to pull that off if only on a limited group of victims. I love April Fool’s but can’t ever think of a good joke.
Oh, and I have two more words of advice for you: Nipple. Stimulation. 🙂 🙂 🙂 It works for me! (Get your husband to do it, obviously, after the kids have gone to bed.)
Please know that I’m regularly praying for you; for strength, calmness and peace. Pregnancy is difficult and going overdue is even more difficult, but it’s one of the beautiful ways that God refines us. I often thank God for the refining fire of pregnancy rather than the fire of serious illness or conflict. May the Lord bless you with His peace.
What a great thought Kimberly! I’ll have to remember that the next time I’m suffering in pregnancy.
“Ouch.”
What does your doctor say? Do they think you could be a month off in your due date?
We personally think the due date is probably off at least some…doctor is adamant that it was March 16th (though I was nursing at the time and so I don’t think my cycle could be heavily relied on)…it’s a big mystery since I usually don’t go over very much. A little more unbelievable with each passing day 😉
Praying for you every day. If the due date is off, I certainly hope the baby is “early”! :~)
Congratulations!;)
He’s adorable, I love BIG healthy babies. 😉
You did catch that it was a joke, right?
I so fell for that – I saw the baby, saw the brown eyes and figured they were due on the gene calendar…is “sucker” stamped on my forehead or what?!?
Oh yes…I saw it as a joke! 🙂 I just love BIG healthy babies!
Oh. My. Goodness. Oh girl. We are praying hard for you here. My oldest has a heart for pregnant ladies so you are at the top of the list!!! Praying, praying!
Yikes! I’m gullible…you got me. 🙂
My husband’s cousin, who is very soon to be out of the Marines, texted his mother (hubby’s fav. auntie) and told her he re-enlisted for 2 more years. Nearly broke her heart, and from a text message. Cruel, I tell you. Boy was she relieved when he told her ‘April Fool’s’.
Prayers for lots of laughter moments until he comes. Hugs!!
The youngest of our 8 is just 6 weeks old. Kait, my oldest, is 16 and views this from the perspective of a teenager excitedly waiting to meet her new sibling. When I told her that you hadn’t had your baby yet she said, “That’s crazy! What Bri must be going through!!!”
I bet the excitement in your house is thick. Praying for you the easiest labor and delivery ever – and soon!
Sorry, left off the a in Bria. I’m one of those people who doesn’t proof read comments until after I post them.
Yes, anticipation is pretty thick here, as you might imagine!
Thank you, thank you all for your continued prayers–it means SOOOO much to me and is so comforting!
So sorry! I think we had the same due date and I am sitting here nursing my two week three day old baby girl. Maybe tonight will be the night and everyone will think it is an April Fool’s joke! 😉
Praying for you still!
Praying for you – I’m sure it won’t be long now!
My “due date” was Wednesday; now my husband doesn’t want me to read your blog anymore. He’s afraid it’s contagious and now I’ve caught it from you…this “overdue” thing. 😉
Oh, that’s hilarious. How late are you exactly?
Praying!
Ok, checked the comments. March 16 was quite a bit ago. 😉
I wasn’t going to mention it until after you delivered, ….but since you are receiving some unwanted pressure from your medical team on pursuing an induction……the longest human pregnancy on record was 375 days long (yes, over one year, yikes!) and there have been babies that have been in gestation for one year. That baby was 6 pounds and 15 ounces when born.
With that said, with all these dear ladies praying for you, I’m sure that you will deliver any day soon. :o) Be of good cheer! The God who is knitting together that precious little one in your womb is sure of his age and his birthday. He will call him forth so soon and this will all be a distant memory. Oh how wonderful to hold that baby in your arms, to roll over without difficulty (I can certainly empathize with you right now), to breathe with ease….and you will laugh at how long it seemed that he grew inside. He will certainly be here soon.
And as a former labor and delivery RN….I’ll let you in on a little secret….the medical staff doesn’t actually know everything (gasp!). ;o) Even without an induction, he won’t stay in there forever. I can’t wait to see that joyous little guy and hear of your great delivery. Praise God that He is sovereign and so gracious!
I am praying for you, Kelly. I’m so glad you put this on your blog. What a cute joke! I love it.
Praying for you, Kelly!
Praying for you and your family!
I am praying for you, little darling.
I think its safe to presume his due date was/is not march 16th. What are your fundal mesurements? Im sure they are doing BPP sonos to track that little guy as well.
As a midwife and mom to almost 9 (due April 27th) they come when their ready, dont they. Praying for you!
We are certainly leaning toward the fact that the due date wasn’t accurate…though the ultrasound, taken in the 18th week, said “March 21” which would still put me 14 days “late” today instead of 19. But since I’ve never been this overdue since my first baby, we’re finding it all really bizarre.
Thank you for your encouragement! Pray we will have patience and wisdom as we are being quite pressured now to make a decision about induction next week.
Kelly,
Your blog is such an encouragement! Thanks for all you do! I’ve been overdue several times, and I completely understand the crazy emotional roller coaster. I have been praying for you! You can do it!
I stumbled across this news clip, and thought of you:

If nothing else, it will give you a good chuckle. Maybe Bria can make you some… It’s worth a try!
Blessings to you and your precious family. You will meet that baby boy soon! You’re almost there!!
Aw… hang in there! I think about you everyday and check faithfully! I’m sure the due date is off! My sister was pretty SURE of her due date and got an ultrasound at about 6 1/2 weeks and they couldn’t see the baby… she got one a week later and she was right on 6 weeks… turned out she was a week and a half off. She had had a few 30 or so day cycles and that cycle ended up being over 40 days. It worked a little better for her since she had such an early ultrasound, but you never know? I’m sure you’re still overdue, but hopefully not so badly! Praying your little guy gets here soon! Excited to see pics and hear the name!
I remember reading about a lady after WWII that was pregnant for over 10 months. In her case she was praying for a late baby. She was trying to get to America (she was I believe Polish) so her son could be an American citizen. She (or should I say He) made it.
God hears your prayer and your little one will arrive on the day the Lord has planned. Praying for patience for you and your family.
Wow, LOL! In all seriousness, I hope your baby is born peacefully, safely, and soon! God bless!
