Savoring Life’s Moments…

by Kelly Crawford

LIFE…

It’s what we do in the ordinary moments…

It’s the quiet places…

And sometimes not very quiet.

It’s beautiful in obvious ways….

…and sometimes not so obvious, yet there all the same.

LIFE…flourishing in the steady rhythm of a day, the unglamorous routines, the ebb and flow that causes roots to grow deep…

Sun, rain, moon, stars–knowing it’s all going to repeat itself again. That’s the safety of our Heavenly Father’s gift to His children…

…and we can reciprocate it to ours.

Waking…

Walking…

Eating….

Playing….

Working…

Steady, familiar moments are life-giving breaths to a child…

I pray, “Lord, you have given me guard over my home, over these little ones, and over my part of the mission…give me grace, and help me say “no” when it needs to be said, and “YES” when YOU have ordered it.”

LIFE…if I wish a single day hurried to be over…I wish life itself to be shortened.

Breathe…

May I not wait for the extraordinary moments…

It’s the simple ones that make up the stuff of life.

Not perfect moments…

But real ones.

As we learn to love each other through our messes, our imperfectness, and always looking to Jesus for the strength to say “I’m sorry”….

and then eating marbled brownies together!

Living a thankful life because it has been given to us…

It’s not a perfect life…but it’s OURS.
So we shrug, and stick the dead roses in a teapot, and keep reminding ourselves that God has breathed beauty into everything…if we just stop to see it.
