I only wash my children’s sheets every so often. And after they put on their PJs, I check their clothes and decide if they can be worn again or not.
I think that in the US there is an obsession with washing every piece of cloth after just being used once.
I have given up in the battle of toys. my children simply have too many. I do not try to sort them or have them neatly arranged any more. i have tried in the past, and after 2 days it looks the same.

Kelly, thank you so much for your perspective! Holding myself to unrealistic, unnecessary standards caused tension and harshness in our home when our children were younger.
Over the years, with much prayer, The Lord has shown me this: Galatians 1:10 says, “…for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” It’s true… We can’t please our Children’s Church leader, our pastor, our husband, our children, our aunts, our mother(-in-law), our dads, our neighbors, (the list is long), AND please Christ. So, God set an order (and what a freeing order it is!!). The order is this: GOD, CHRIST, the Husband, the Wife, the Children (1 Corinth. 11:3 & Col. 3:20). Please JESUS. Obey GOD’s commands. Obey & love your husband. And love (love, love, love) your children.
Everyone else … well, love them. Serve them.
But we can’t always please them.
Most importantly, as a follower of Jesus Christ, we aren’t called to.

My prayer is that Kelly’s most recent writing will save some of you wonderful (& busy!) young mommas a little of the heartache and hurt our children and family went through when our family was trying to meet others’ standards.
