Diapers, Dishes and Dominion: Why You Need to Change Your Mind About Diapers

by Kelly Crawford

diaper_dishes_dominionMy friend, Leah, is another “mother in the trenches” with a vision as big as Texas. She has written a profoundly important book for mothers who are struggling with fear, insignificance and purpose.

Diapers, Dishes and Dominion combats the destructive message of “peripheral motherhood” and replaces it with the inspiring message of what mothers can do to change the world when they grasp their influence and responsibility.

Here’s a bit about the book:

“Change your mind about changing diapers and you could change the world.

It’s hard being a wife and mother. The constant barrage of feminist propaganda tells stay-at-home moms their lives are insignificant, and inner discontentment can spring up from the mundane frictions of daily routine. From many sources, Christian housewives are under attack every day. And for some of them, a bad day has become their whole lives.

Author Leah Smith was in that boat: plagued by shapeless anxieties and prod- ded by nameless longings. She was ready to give up on marriage, family… even life. And she didn’t even know why. One night, she asked God to liberate her from her fears. Right then, she began a journey of freedom into the truth. Her life has never been the same.

Diapers, Dishes & Dominion is a product of that journey — a summary record of the truths God can use to transform ordinary Christian housewives into His weapons of mass reconstruction. In simple and straightforward language, Leah exposes some of the most prevalent lies Satan uses to keep Christian women irrelevant in God’s Kingdom, and she presents biblical truths these wives and mothers need to know in order to change the world — one diaper at a time.

Every wife and mother who wants to make an impact needs to read Diapers, Dishes & Dominion.

The first step to changing the world is changing your mind.”

Listen to Leah’s interview with Kevin Swanson from Generations With Vision!

“Leah Smith is a happy wife of seven years and homeschooling mother to four energetic children under the age of six. Leah’s articles have been featured on AmericanVision.org and VisionaryWomanhood.com. In her theoretical spare time, Leah enjoys songwriting and recording, natural health and fitness, and buying too many books. Leah and her family presently reside in southern British Columbia, Canada.”

I need this book. Although I definitely see the eternal value in what I’m doing by discipling my children, and I’m so very grateful that hubby and I made the decision that I quit my job and become a full-time mommy, I still struggle with wondering if I truly believe my children are a blessing. Considering how frequently I and aggravated and frustrated that they just don’t think like adults and they actually act like kids– do I really believe what I say when I tell people my children are a blessing and not a burden?

Kelly,
Thank You for sharing this information about the book. I will definitely be adding it to my collection. I feel just like the author did before she wrote this book.

Blessings,
Sarah

“One of these days..you are going to miss changing those messy diapers”! Those were my husbands words..just a few short years ago..it seems.. and He was so right!

It’s so hard sometimes when they are so little and you are so overwhelmed with everything..to picture them as adults.

I am there now with my kids..four of them..and let me tell you!!It was So Very Worth It.We are not perfect here..lol..but my four grown kids are strong vibrant Christians and I am so blessed by them!

You ARE making a difference!! Keep running the race..I promise it will be worth it.

Kelly..I would love to be able to come to the thing you all will be speaking at but with three grown kids just getting home from trips out of state and several friend’s and relatives graduations..will not be able to make it! Maybe you all could record them and we can purchase the CD’s..Blessings to you all today!!Let us all know if those would be available..Thanks!

Thank you so much.

Yes, we are recording the conference (which sold out, by the way!) and we will make those available soon after. We are so excited! I do wish you could come too 😉

“The constant barrage of feminist propaganda tells stay-at-home moms their lives are insignificant…” No it doesn’t. Besides it was the 1970s feminist movement that fought for stay-at-home mothers to be able to have their contributions recognized. Nice try though. While you are at it, perhaps you could tell my feminist friends who also happen to be stay-at-home mums that they have a wrong conception of feminism?
